I’m not sure if I’ve been consuming Soylent long enough for it to have a considerable impact on my subconscious, but the nightmare I had last night was significant enough for me to make that assumption (for the blog).
Most of my dreams take place in far away lands or mundane suburban spaces, but occasionally I’ll have one that’s like an image projected onto my actual surroundings: Hypnopompic Hallucinations: fucked up shit you see in the foggy space between dreaming and waking. When it happens, this is basically how I react (this guy is someone else; not me):
Last night’s was absolutely the scariest hallucination I’ve had yet – an aged child’s face with a grim smile peering at me over my open closet door. To give you an idea of the horror of the vision, I’ve recreated what I saw in the photo below. Now I’ll have to warn you to brace yourselves because this is disturbing. Scroll down to see the image.

Suffice it to say, I didn’t get much sleep and had a pretty weird day because of it. The Soylent aspect of my day though: not bad. I tried adding some cinnamon and MY GOD what a difference! It’s actually delicious. I’m wondering now why I hadn’t thought to flavor it in any way, especially when I found this awesome page on the Soylent website. I’ll have to think of some more non-calorific flavoring ideas – eventually I’ll get tired of this virgin eggnog. If you have any thoughts, let me know by leaving a comment below!
